How to Access the United States Patent and Trademark Office PAIR System

A registered United States patent attorney would typically check the status of your patent application and email regular feedbacks. In the case of an inventor that has filed his or her own patent application, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has the Patent Application Information Retrieval System that allows inventors to check the status of their trademark applications

PAIR is a private site that permits secure access to the status of a patent application. Inventors would need a customer number that is associated with address for their application. The computer used to access the PAIR system would have to be equipped with the required software tools.
